QtecX for Windows: the agent on your own computer

The desktop app gives the QtecX agent your folders, a terminal, live preview and a game engine, with rights you set for every folder.

QtecX now comes as a desktop app for Windows. It is the same QtecX you use in the browser, with the same account, the same sessions and the same agent. The difference is where the work happens: in the desktop app, the agent works on your own computer, in the folders you choose.

The brain stays on our server, the hands run on yours

Your account, your memory and the agent's thinking live on our server. The hands, the files, the terminal, the live preview and the game engine, run on your machine. Your code stays where you keep it: the agent opens your folder in place and never copies it somewhere else to work on it.

You decide what it may touch

Every folder you link has its own rights:

  • Read only: the agent reads and explains, and changes nothing.
  • Ask: the agent asks before each change and waits for your answer.
  • Full: the agent works freely in that folder and shows you every step.

Anything outside your folders needs your explicit approval first.

What the desktop app adds

  • A real terminal. The agent uses PowerShell and Git Bash, and Git ships inside the app.
  • Code and Preview. The Sandbox shows your code and the running app side by side, one tab for each folder.
  • The Engine. Describe a game and the agent builds it in your folder; you play it and test it in the same window. Exporting finished builds is coming.
  • Sub-agents. For a big job the agent starts sub-agents that work in parallel, each on its own copy, and merges what they finish.
  • A backup of your code. Your project's code is kept in an encrypted, versioned backup on our server. Private mode keeps the key on your devices only.

The web stays

In the browser, QtecX is one agent for chat, web research, documents, images, voice, memory and teams. Everything that needs your computer is in the desktop app.

macOS and Linux are coming. You can download the Windows app from the download page.
