Acceptable Use Policy
In short
- These rules cover everything you do on QtecX, including what the agent does on your request.
- No illegal content, no child sexual abuse material, no sexually explicit content, no phishing, fraud or malware.
- No deepfakes, face swaps or voice clones of real people, and no use of anyone's likeness without their explicit consent.
- Do not attack the service, other people's computers or the isolation of your own, and do not try to get around our safety checks.
- Respect other people's work and personal data.
- Anyone can report content; we review every report and you can appeal our decisions.
What this covers
This policy sets the rules for everything you do on QtecX: prompts and chats, projects, the agent's work on your own computer in the desktop app and on cloud computers, shared projects, sessions and team spaces, generated media, hosted sites, apps and games, and public posts. It is part of the Terms of Service, and the AI and Generated Content Terms add rules for AI outputs. You are responsible for what happens in your account, including what the agent does on your request. Asking the agent to do something does not make it allowed.
What changed in version 2.0: rules for the automated safety checks, for apps and tool servers you connect, for your own key and for shared projects; extracting the service's hidden instructions is not allowed. Version 1.4 covered the agent working on your own computer. Version 1.4, version 1.3, version 1.2, version 1.1 and version 1.0 stay available.
Illegal and harmful content
Do not use QtecX to create, store, share, publish or host:
- anything illegal where you are or in the European Union;
- child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexualised content involving minors, real or generated. Zero tolerance: we remove it, close the account, keep the evidence the law requires and report it to the authorities and to child-safety organisations;
- sexually explicit or pornographic content, real or generated, and services built around it (including dating or "companion" services of a sexual nature);
- content that promotes or supports terrorism or violent extremism;
- harassment, threats, bullying, doxxing (publishing someone's private details), or content that incites violence;
- hate content that attacks people for who they are;
- content that encourages suicide, self-harm or eating disorders;
- instructions meant to help someone cause serious harm, such as making weapons capable of mass casualties, or attacking critical infrastructure.
Real people, likeness and deepfakes
Do not use QtecX to:
- make deepfakes: images, audio or video that present a real person saying or doing things they did not;
- make face swaps, or put a real person's face or body into other content;
- clone or imitate a real person's voice;
- generate any content that uses a person's likeness (face, body, voice or name in a way that identifies them) without that person's explicit consent;
- make sexual or degrading content of any real person, whatever the consent;
- categorise or rank people by their face, voice or body, or make automated decisions about people (for example about jobs, credit, housing or access to services) without lawful grounds and meaningful human review.
Realistic images of people who do not exist are allowed for lawful purposes, but must not be presented as real people or used to deceive.
Fraud, phishing and deception
Do not:
- build or host phishing pages, fake sign-in screens, or pages that ask for passwords, codes or payment details under false pretences;
- build fake shops, scam offers, fake giveaways, pyramid or get-rich-quick schemes;
- impersonate a person, brand, bank, government body or organisation, in your handle, your profile, a hosted site or generated content;
- create fake reviews, fake engagement, or mass-produce misleading content to manipulate people, elections or platforms;
- present AI-generated content as made by a human, or remove AI markers, in order to mislead.
Regulated activities
Do not use QtecX or host sites on it to offer, without the licences and checks the law requires: gambling, betting or lotteries; trading, investment or payment services, money transfer or virtual currency exchange; prescription medicines or medical treatment; weapons, drugs or other restricted goods. Do not use outputs as legal, medical or financial advice to others without qualified human oversight.
Hosted sites and apps
A site, app or game you host on QtecX is your published content, and you are responsible for it. It must also:
- say clearly who runs it, where the law requires this (for example an imprint or contact page for a business site);
- not collect visitors' personal data without a lawful reason and a clear notice, and follow cookie and privacy rules for its visitors;
- not distribute malware, or redirect visitors to harmful or deceptive sites;
- not be used to send spam or mass messages, or as infrastructure for attacks;
- not be a marketplace that sells other people's goods or services through QtecX.
We may scan hosted sites and generated media, automatically and by people, for phishing, malware and illegal content, and we take down what breaks these rules.
Security, your computer and cloud computers
In the desktop app the agent runs on your own computer; where we offer them, a project can also have a cloud computer on our servers. Use them to build and run your work. Whichever computer the agent uses, do not:
- create, run or spread malware, ransomware, spyware, keyloggers or other harmful code;
- mine cryptocurrency;
- attack other systems (denial of service, password guessing, exploits), or scan and probe systems you do not own or have permission to test;
- run open proxies or VPN services for others, or solve captchas at scale;
- try to break out of a cloud computer's isolation, or reach other people's computers or our internal systems;
- point the agent at computers, accounts or networks you are not allowed to use;
- get around limits, credits, safety checks, the desktop app's permissions or other controls;
- send spam from your computer, your hosted sites or your account;
- try to extract, copy or reveal the service's instructions, hidden prompts, internal tools or the systems behind it;
- try to switch off, get around or deceive the automated safety and security checks, for example by hiding content from them or splitting a forbidden task into harmless-looking parts.
Connected apps, tool servers and your own key
- Connect only accounts, apps and tool servers you are allowed to use, and give the agent only the permissions you need.
- Do not use a connection to send spam, to post or publish what these rules forbid, or to act in someone else's account.
- Do not add a tool server built to attack the service, to steal data or to get around these rules.
- With your own key, follow your provider's own rules as well as these; your key does not change what is allowed on QtecX.
Other people and their work
- Do not infringe other people's intellectual property, such as copyrights and trademarks, or help others do so (for example tools to rip streams, crack software or copy paid content). The Copyright and Takedown Policy explains how rights holders reach us.
- Do not collect or publish personal data about others without a lawful reason.
- Respect the people you work with in shared projects, sessions and team spaces: do not share their work outside the project without their permission, and do not use a shared project to harass or spy on its members.
Automated and bulk use
- Do not create accounts in bulk or with automated tools, or share an account to dodge limits.
- Do not scrape websites in violation of their terms, or scrape QtecX.
- Do not resell or give access to QtecX without our written permission.
Reporting content (notice and action)
Anyone can report content on QtecX that they believe is illegal or breaks this policy, including content on a hosted site: use the "Report" button where it is shown, or write to hello@qtecx.si with the subject "Report". To help us act quickly, a report should contain:
- where the content is: the exact link (URL), handle or project;
- why you believe it is illegal or breaks this policy, with enough detail for us to see it;
- your name and email address (not required for reports of child sexual abuse material);
- a statement that you make the report in good faith and that it is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.
We confirm receipt, review every report in a timely, careful and objective manner, and tell you what we decided and how you can contest it. Reports of child sexual abuse material, of threats to life and of phishing are handled first. We do not share your identity with the person you reported, unless the law requires it. Reports that are clearly unfounded and repeated may lead us to stop processing reports from the same sender for a time, after a warning.
If you believe there is a threat to someone's life or safety, contact the police first.
What happens when rules are broken
Our automated checks may stop a step, refuse a request or hold content for review at once. Depending on how serious the problem is, we may remove or disable the content, take a hosted site offline, stop a computer, limit features or credits, suspend or close the account, and report illegal activity to the authorities. Where possible we warn you first; in serious or urgent cases we act at once. A person decides before an account is closed. Paid credits are not refunded when an account is closed for a serious breach, except where the law requires it.
When we remove or restrict your content or account, we send you a statement of reasons: what we did, why, which rule or law applies, whether automated means were used, and how to appeal.
Appeals
If you think we made a mistake, reply to our message or write to hello@qtecx.si within six months. A person reviews every appeal and tells you the result. If we were wrong, we restore what we removed. You may also use an out-of-court dispute settlement body certified under the EU Digital Services Act, or go to court.
