Cookie Policy
This policy explains the cookies and browser storage QtecX uses on https://qtecx.si, in the QtecX app and in the desktop app.
In short
- Strictly necessary cookies are always on.
- In the EU, EEA, UK and Turkey, analytics runs only if you allow it. Elsewhere it is on by default, and you can turn it off with one tap.
- We use no advertising cookies and we do not sell or share data for advertising.
- Paddle sets its own necessary cookies when you open the checkout.
- You can change your choice at any time in Cookie settings.
What changed in version 2.0: nothing in how cookies work; the version moves with our other policies. In version 1.4, Turkey joins the places where analytics runs only if you allow it, and we describe how the desktop app asks. Version 1.3 described the cookies Paddle's checkout sets and listed our cookies in one table. The choices are the same as in version 1.2. Version 1.4, version 1.3, version 1.2, version 1.1 and version 1.0 stay available.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser, so it can remember things between pages and visits, such as the fact that you are signed in. Browsers also offer "local storage", which works in a similar way and stays on your device. This policy covers both.
Your choice
What happens on your first visit depends on where you are.
In the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Turkey, a banner asks for your choice, and nothing optional runs before you choose:
- Necessary only: only the cookies QtecX needs to work.
- Allow analytics: the necessary cookies, plus analytics that help us understand how the service is used.
Both buttons are equally easy to use.
Everywhere else, analytics is on by default. A banner tells you so the first time, with a Turn off analytics button next to OK. Once you turn it off, no analytics script is loaded on your next visit or page load.
We tell where you are from your connection's country when our network provides it, and otherwise from your browser's time zone and language. When we cannot tell, we treat you as being in the EU, so analytics stays off until you allow it. In the desktop app, there is no banner: the app asks you once, the first time it opens, in a window of your computer's system, with the same two choices, and nothing optional runs before you choose. It keeps your choice like the website does.
You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the foot of our pages or in Settings › Data. We ask again when this policy changes in a way that affects your choice, and at the latest after 12 months.

Strictly necessary
These are needed for QtecX to work, so they do not need your consent. Paddle's checkout cookies are set by Paddle as the Merchant of Record and are described in Paddle's privacy notice.
Analytics
When analytics runs (with your consent in the EU, EEA, UK and Turkey; by default elsewhere, until you turn it off), we measure things like which pages are visited, which features are used and where people get stuck, so we can improve QtecX. The measurement runs on our own servers or with a provider bound by contract to act only for us; it is not used for advertising and not sold. Analytics data is kept up to 13 months, then aggregated or deleted. If you choose "Necessary only" or turn analytics off, no analytics script is loaded.
Sites hosted on QtecX
Sites you build and host on QtecX are your own. Any cookies they set, and the consent their visitors need to give, are the responsibility of the site's owner.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. If you block the necessary cookies, you cannot sign in or pay. If you clear local storage, your preferences return to the defaults and the banner asks again.
